I Have Arrived!
From across the wind and the waves I come.
Of corals and cowries am I;
Rising from mermaids' bosom.
In a skiff secure I sail,
Guarded by Poseidon the mighty guard,
A solitary sojourner, knowing not
How long this voyage lasts.
Lights beam in the distance,
High and low it goes.
To a shore unseen, unheard
They welcome me.
The land not so distant,
Sends out cries, a little then and now,
Loud thunders of joy sometimes
Like the many colors of the changing skies.
The shore begins to line the corners of my eyes
Land! Land! I push harder at my paddle
A land exotic, nerving
A land so foreign, so magical.
Lights beam in the distance,
High and low it goes.
To a shore unseen, unheard
They welcome me.
I near the end of my journey.
Large, expectant eyes wave to me
From the shore radiant with lights -
Their shimmer new and exciting.
I moor my skiff to the pier,
See two excited hands lift me up in glee.
I'm warm, fulfilled, just like
The traversed coral horizon.
I near the end of my journey.
Large, expectant eyes wave to me
From the shore radiant with lights -
Their shimmer new and exciting.
I moor my skiff to the pier,
See two excited hands lift me up in glee.
I'm warm, fulfilled, just like
The traversed coral horizon.
