Tea Times With Mother
Tea times with mother are the best,
Talks of kith and kin from East to West
Putting worries and gloom to rest,
And lifting a heavy heart from mire to nest.
Two cups of hot chai, a small packet
Of Tiger biscuits we call 'the five-rupee packet'
Nom-chat-nom-chat-nom-nom-chat-chat
A laughter riot, later, a gossip racket.
Tea times with mother are always the best
Evoking a gay childhood, which now a mist
May seem, but seals my soul with memories so warm, lest
I forget on a rainy day, this beautiful conversation, it's zest.
