A Letter To My Sister

11.04.2016, Monday

Another two hours and you will be walking down the aisle, holding papa's hands, smiling ever so beautifully. I remember how much you have been planning and preparing for this day, how excited you have always been to see Bobby's face at the other end of the aisle. But what I remember with better clarity and happy sentiments are the days and years we spent together. How you taught me to braid my hair, how you sat with me to help finish my projects and how we ran the school race together as opponents. School will always be a vivid memory. My friends were of two camps - mine and yours. Thank you for all your friends, for they became my friends too. Thank you for your clothes that eventually became mine; for your trigonometry lessons; for the songs you sang and the nights you stayed awake because I cried like a baby over silly fights. Thank you for 2015. Thank you for coming to Bangalore and adding more memories to our shared life.

"You're getting married! Good lord! After your younger sister??!"
I'm sorry you had to face spiteful comments and disheartening wishes during the past few months. I have never felt more terrible. But here's one thing I always, always believed : I did it because it made me happy, like meditation. I did it because I knew this was the path I had to choose; because Universe just synchronised everything perfectly. Maybe Bobby was meant to come around a little late. Late, but the best, right?

I hope you enjoy this day and that everything about today sticks with you as sweet memories you can cherish even during bad days. May the skies open up and shine brighter than ever, may you both build a strong relationship to last, may you both be strengthened in this bond and may your wide smile stay on. Appa and amma will walk you down one last time. Clutch harder, give your best smile and strut like you always do!

It's too hot to wish you a sunny life so I'm hoping you may be blessed with showers of cleansing rain, showers of Gucci, Prada, and many more shopping adventures. Bless the shopaholic in you! And I bless the both of you the happiest best. May rainbows fly out of your asses today and may you sleep well tonight!

Sloppy kisses and farts,
Ammini
