When at Crossroads
After a month long sabbatical, today I resumed my driving
classes. Jeez, it seemed like forever! Every time I drive I gain a sense of
independence and confidence, I feel I can do a lot of things, I feel invigorated.
Whatever is the magic is, bless that!
I drove past angry cars, busy people, buildings and houses. Like
any careful driver, I had to be watchful about signals, jay walkers or any
possible obstruction to my journey. Most of the times we fail to understand the
importance of our life here; we do not see the reflection of our lives in our
seemingly irrelevant, monotonous daily happenings.
As I drove on I had to slow down at crossroads and signals. It
was rush hour and the traffic was crazy! Every time I waited for the green
signal to go on I asked my mind, isn't this the way life works?
All of us face junctions or crossroads in life. Some of us
maybe finishing our colleges and wondering what’s next. Some of us might be
wondering what job to take up next. Or some of us may even be trying to figure
life out. We all straddle the line, asking that one big question – to be or not
to be. We all know for a fact that there can never be any short cut to these
questions life throws at us. We need to figure them out. One at a time.
Life will not always be smooth. It is filled with ups and
downs, more like a joy ride. Take it as it comes. We can always try not to let
the temporary sorrows overtake our happiness, because if we do then the focus
is taken off from what we can achieve to what we cannot achieve. Whatever the question
is, there will always be an answer, within us! It is up to us to figure that
out. Give our heart and mind some time, and never let any dream go abandoned in
the hollow of our screaming thoughts. There will be many red signals, we will
be tempted to quit or we may even be tempted to ram into something or someone to
vent out our anger. Pause and think things over and over because there is nothing time can't do or undo.
I only hope and pray we may be able to overcome the negative energy that can tightly grip us from all around. There will be uncertainties and there will be questions unanswered. But like good drivers may we be able to slow down and wait for the right road to clear and make way for us.
Happy and safe ride!
